Take a multi-city study tour to visit intergenerational programs throughout the globe. This study tour is offered to professionals, educators
and students of any age. See how you can incorporate intergenerational approaches into your organization or practice. In 2008, multi-city study tours in Spain and Germany offered participants up-to-date information about recent intergenerational developments in these countries. Tours provided opportunities to meet practitioners involved in the implementation of intergenerational programs. The itinerary in Spain included Barcelona, Valencia, Murcia, and Granada. In Germany, the train connected travelers to programs in Berlin, Dresden, and Halle. In 2009, in partnership with the Japan Intergenerational Unity Association, a fall study tour travelled from Kyoto to Tokyo. A study tour to O`ahu and Maui in 2010 brought the focus to two shared site programs and a unique apprenticeship between Hawaiian students and adult mentors working together in Hana, Maui to bring universal design to island homes and organizations so that elders could remain in their homes and community. After a study tour, participants can create their own programs and receive continuing education credits from The Pennsylvania State University. For more information, please Contact Us.
