From October 5-October 10, 2008, tour participants will travel to Barcelona, Valencia, Murcia and Granada to discover the unique approaches to intergenerational programs as designed and practiced in Spain. Programs are as varied as the Viure I Conviure Foundation's homeshare programs in Barcelona, the School of Grandparents in Valencia, a senior day center in Murcia and a primary school in Granada.

The full program includes site visits, seminars and opportunities to discuss and share practices with professionals and students. Enough leisure time is included to visit some of Spain's well known museums, cultural and historical destinations.

Cost for this study tour is $1750

Travel is by bus and train. The tour is limited to 10 participants. Accommodations are provided at Hotel NH Numancia in Barcelona, Hotel Renasa in Valencia, Arco de San Juan in Murcia and Macia Condor in Granada. Price of the tour is based on double occupancy and includes transportation (except from Granada to final destination for the participant), hotel, meals and some entry tickets to local monuments and museums. Also included is the cost of the continuing education credits (4.5) from The Pennsylvania State University and the consultation to assist participants in the creation of their own intergenerational programs once you return home.

Tour hosts are Viure I Conviure Foundation in Barcelona, La Nau Gran (University of Valencia), University of Murcia, and OFECUM in Granada.
