practice. Tours provide opportunities to meet practitioners involved in the implementation of intergenerational programs. Hawaii's programs offer an opportunity to
explore approaches that meet the diverse needs of Hawaii's multi-ethnic society. Create your own programs and receive continuing credits from The Pennsylvania
State University.

Arrival at Honolulu International Airport. Lodging at Waikiki Gateway Hotel. Evening orientation

| Monday, October 18 |
Morning - Site visit to Waialae Charter School - an elementary school with a "community in the
schools" senior volunteer program
Lunch - Kapiolani Community College Culinary Institute - Learn more about the Long-term Care Resource Center Initiative from its founder, Dr. Cullen Hayashida.
Explore service learning approaches to intergenerational activities. KCC has one of the best service learning programs in the nation.
Afternoon - Attend a symposium on intergenerational perspectives - an interactive session with University of Hawaii and Chaminade university faculty at
Chaminade University.

Morning - Visit the Seagull School shared site - a preschool co-located with an adult day
care facility.
Lunch - Hawaii Plantation Village. Tour to follow. Explore the roots of Hawaii's diverse community.

| Wednesday, October 20 |
Transfer to Maui. Visit Hale Makua a long term care facility. Participate in a
Brain Gym and fall prevention class. Lodging at the Lahaina Shores Hotel on the beach in historic Lahaina, former capital of Hawaii. BLD |
| Thursday, October 21 |
Visit the shared site Nisei Veterans Intergenerational and Memorial Center (preschool and adult care)
and Maui Community College to discuss implementation and support for intergenerational programs by the University of Hawaii's College of Tropical Agriculture. BLD |
| Friday, October 22 |
Return to Oahu. Free time. Debriefing and dinner. BD |
| Saturday, October 23 |
Departure from Honolulu International Airport. B |
Tour price: $1,750 double occupancy, includes hotel on both islands, all breakfasts (B), 4 lunches (L) and 4 dinners (D), inter-island airfare, entrance fees and
