This study tour is offered to professionals, educators and students of any age. See how you can incorporate intergenerational approaches into your organization or
practice. Tours provide opportunities to meet practitioners involved in the implementation of intergenerational programs. Hawaii's programs offer an opportunity to
explore approaches that meet the diverse needs of Hawaii's multi-ethnic society. Create your own programs and receive continuing credits from The Pennsylvania
State University.

Arrival at Honolulu International Airport. Lodging at Waikiki Gateway Hotel. Evening orientation

| Monday, October 18 |
Morning - Join the Hawaii Pacific Gerontological Society (HPGS) conference, “Preparing
for the Aging Tsunami” at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. This two day conference will feature keynote speakers from Hawaii, Asia and the mainland
(www.hpgs.org)

| Tuesday, October 19 |
Morning - Optional visit to the Seagull Schools shared site - a preschool co-located with an
adult day care facility in Kapolei. Return to the conference for an opportunity to have a dialogue with conference leadership.

| Wednesday, October 20 |
Transfer to an early flight to Maui. This portion of our study tour is hosted by Heather Greenwood,
University of Hawaii Cooperative Extension Service (CTAHR). Visit the Nisei Veterans Memorial Center, a preschool and adult day care shared site program. Lodging at
the Banyan Bed and Breakfast Inn in Haiku, Maui. Afternoon and evening free to tour Paia or to enjoy the pool and jacuzzi in a gorgeous tropical setting. BL |
| Thursday, October 21 |
Before dawn we begin our trip to Hana through beautiful valleys, waterfalls and mountains. To help
older adults age in place, high school students have been trained as carpenters to retrofit homes in this remote rural community. The mutual benefits have changed
perceptions of both young and old. Our trip back will have us staying in a bed and breakfast in rural Haiku. BLD |
| Friday, October 22 |
Friday will be an opportunity to do some shopping or additional sightseeing on both islands. We will
take our flight back to Waikiki for our final night at the Waikiki Gateway Hotel. Our late afternoon program includes debriefing the trip and enjoying dinner with
some intergenerational specialists. BD |
| Saturday, October 23 |
Departure for most of the group from Honolulu International Airport. |
Tour price: $1,250 double occupancy, includes hotel on both islands, 6 breakfasts (B), 4 lunches (L) and 3 dinners (D), inter-island airfare, conference and
entrance fees and ground transportation. Register early to confirm price as inter-island airfares may increase. Fare based on 6-10 participants. Price will increase with
less than 6 participants.
Deposit of $250 is due by August 17, 2010
