TEACH ENGLISH IN JAPAN

We are seeking volunteers to teach English at Ohana English Preschools (OEP) in Yokohama, Japan. Volunteer must be 50 years+, love working with children and commit to a three month stay. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis for terms beginning January, April, July, October 2008.

Many of the costs of living expenses are covered including:

Travel to and from Yokohama

Medical, travel and liability insurance

Lodging in a two bedroom condo shared by another volunteer

Bus and subway passes

1000 yen per day

Cell phone with prepaid minutes

Volunteers must be able to sit on the floor or low child-size chair. Distance from the condo to the preschool combines public transportation with several blocks of walking. As a volunteer, you will have conversations with the children to help them to understand new English words and encourage them to use language to express themselves. Your day will include reading to the children, singing songs, doing fitness activities and talking with them during play to help them put their ideas into English words.
